Job summary

Leidos LLC in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Algorithm Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge signal processing on Leidos SoCs. You will work on real-time DSP pipelines and interface with signal processing, embedded, and RF teams to ensure performance and reliability in challenging environments.

The role requires 8+ years in C/C++, MATLAB experience, and a strong foundation in signal processing, Linux, and hardware/software co-design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 8+ years of software development experience in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Understanding of linear algebra and probability.
• Strong signal processing knowledge (Fourier, filtering, complex arithmetic).
• Experience with MATLAB and signal processing algorithms.
• Experience with build tools GCC, CMake, Make.
• Version control and CI tools (git, Subversion, Jenkins).
• Linux development environment experience.
• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of advanced systems as part of cross-disciplinary teams.
• Design, implement and test C applications in real-time environments.
• Analyze signal processing algorithms developed in MATLAB.
• Port algorithms from MATLAB/Python/C++ to C on Leidos SoCs in multi-core environments.
• Optimize C code for DSP with SIMD and hardware accelerators to meet real-time requirements.
• Develop Hardware-in-the-loop tests to validate algorithms.
• Communicate technical details clearly to engineers; support field testing and briefings.
