Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, is seeking a Scene Generation Engineer to design, develop, and validate high-fidelity 3D radiometric synthetic environments for tactical scenarios, with emphasis on real-time hardware-in-the-loop integration.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in Linux, C++, OpenGL/CUDA, Python, and graphic programming, and will mentor juniors while improving software quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
• Strong OO design and development experience.
• Experience with software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience developing applications on Linux.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate high-fidelity 3D radiometric models for scene generation.
• Integrate scene generation software into real-time hardware-in-the-loop labs.
• Develop tools to support model development, analysis, and visualization.
• Review peers' code and provide technical feedback.
• Mentor junior software engineers and promote best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve software quality, efficiency, and performance.
