Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Scene Generation Engineer for the Engineering Services Division to design, develop, and validate high-fidelity 3D radiometric scene models.

You will work in a distributed team, using Linux and graphics programming, contributing to real-time hardware-in-the-loop integration and software tooling. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience with object-oriented software design and development.
• Experience developing applications in Linux environments.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and debugging tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to obtain or maintain required security clearances if needed for classified programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate high-fidelity 3D radiometric scene models for use in scene generation software across tactical, strategic, and surveillance scenarios.
• Provide integration support of scene generation software into real-time hardware-in-the-loop labs.
• Develop tools to support model development, integration, analysis, visualization, and user interfaces.
• Review peers' software and provide technical feedback and guidance.
• Mentor junior software engineers and promote software engineering best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve software quality, efficiency, and system performance.
