Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Scene Generation Engineer to design, develop, and validate high-fidelity physics-based 3D radiometric environments for diverse tactical scenarios.

You will integrate scene generation software with real-time hardware-in-the-loop labs and drive software quality and performance across teams. The role requires extensive OO software experience, Linux proficiency, and skills in C++, OpenGL, CUDA, and Python, with a Secret clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in object-oriented software design and development.
• Experience with software architecture and design patterns.
• Experience in graphical programming, radiometry, and modern OO software development with real-time HIL integrations.
• Proficiency in C++, OpenGL, CUDA, Python.
• Experience developing applications in Linux environments.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and debugging tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead technical development across teams.
• Able to excel in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate high-fidelity 3D radiometric models for scene generation software.
• Provide integration support of scene generation software into real-time hardware-in-the-loop labs.
• Develop tools to support model development, integration, analysis, visualization, and UX.
• Review peers' software and provide technical feedback.
• Mentor junior software engineers and promote best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve software quality, efficiency, and performance.
