Roblox in San Mateo is seeking an experienced engineer to design and ship high-performance 3D engine systems for avatars and environments. Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience shipping high-performance systems in game engines, real-time simulation, robotics, AR/VR, or similar.
• Deep proficiency in C++, with focus on clean, efficient, maintainable code in large codebases.
• Hands-on experience with production-grade 3D rendering, mesh/geometry processing, or GPU client performance.
• Ability to diagnose CPU/GPU tradeoffs for mobile/console platforms.
• Ownership in ambiguity: drive work end-to-end from idea to production.
• Strong collaboration and communication across Engine/Rendering/Avatar/Studio teams.

Responsabilités

• Design and ship 3D engine systems for avatar and environment geometry.
• Partner with Rendering, Avatar, Studio and external developers to ensure features are usable for experiences.
• Profile and improve engine performance across devices with emphasis on mobile.
• Mentor engineers and drive end-to-end projects, ensuring high technical quality and code health.
