Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal in Corporate Indianapolis to support secured debt transactions for a premier portfolio of commercial properties. The role involves reviewing title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and estoppel certificates, while coordinating with title insurers, lenders, and tenants.

You will manage site plans, ownership structures, and transaction logistics, ensuring timely closings and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on real estate, title, and survey matters for sophisticated commercial properties and secured debt transactions.
• Experience with complex joint ventures and entity structures is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Title & Survey: Review and analyze title commitments, pro forma policies, and related encumbrance documents to identify and resolve potential title issues and objections for secured debt transactions.
• Site Plans & Ownership Structures: Create and maintain detailed property site plans and summarize complex ownership structures (ground leases, REAs, TICs, condos).
• Zoning: Review zoning reports, resolve compliance issues, and coordinate with zoning providers and lender counsel.
• Leasing & Estoppels: Prepare estoppel certificates, coordinate revisions with tenants, and verify lease information.
• Transaction Management: Manage all aspects of secured debt transactions, maintain pipeline reports, and oversee closing logistics.
• File Management & Administrative Support: Maintain organized SharePoint files and support KYC/compliance tasks.
