Job summary

HACLA is seeking a Development Officer in Los Angeles to lead complex real estate developments from feasibility through construction and transition to operations. You will manage internal and external teams, coordinate closings, and work with lenders, investors and public agencies to advance multi-family and mixed-use projects.

The role requires a strong background in real estate development, financing, and regulatory processes, with extensive collaboration with city, state, HUD and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and six years in public housing, affordable housing, or real estate redevelopment.
• Minimum three years of senior management experience in similar scope.
• Experience sourcing, structuring, and negotiating real estate transactions with subsidies or tax credits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex real estate projects including housing acquisitions, development, and rehabilitation.
• Coordinate closings and project conversions with lenders, investors, and public agencies.
• Lead due diligence, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory approvals for development projects.
• Engage with HACLA and community partners to secure entitlements and approvals.
