Job summary

A well-established real estate investment and management organization seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting across a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate, operating businesses, and investment entities.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage full-cycle accounting, intercompany activity, and treasury, while leading a team and partnering with executive leadership to strengthen controls and drive strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory/management responsibilities.
• Commercial real estate accounting experience required or strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
• GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Hands-on payroll, cash management, and treasury experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across multiple entities.
• Manage intercompany accounting, related-party transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee commercial real estate accounting, including tenant activity, CAM reconciliations, property taxes, and capex.
• Manage AP, AR, payroll, and operating company accounting activities.
• Monitor cash flow, banking activity, debt obligations, and liquidity requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis with CFO.
• Coordinate audit, tax, lender, and ownership reporting requirements.
• Supervise accounting staff while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
