Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Westmont, IL seeks a Senior Associate I in its Property Accounting team to deliver timely financial reporting for a portfolio of 4–6 properties. You will prepare monthly and quarterly statements, manage audits, and oversee key accounting functions that influence client decisions.

You will collaborate with on-site teams, maintain internal controls, and support budgeting while receiving mentorship to advance your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, with real estate accounting experience.
• Experience with MRI or Yardi or similar CMMS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; able to analyze data and generate reports.
• Multitask effectively and meet client deadlines under pressure.
• Client-focused with ability to build relationships and trust across stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; able to establish actions and evaluate results.
• Comfort dealing with ambiguity and risk with sound decision making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial statements, journal entries, and bank reconciliations for your assigned property portfolio.
• Coordinate accounts payable processes, invoice coding, approvals, and internal controls.
• Serve as the primary accounting resource for on-site property teams and respond to questions.
• Oversee cash management activities including loan servicing and external reporting.
• Manage internal and external audit processes and gather required documentation.
• Support annual budget preparation and ensure accurate data entry into accounting systems.
• Execute year-end reconciliations and ensure timely billing per lease requirements.
