Job summary

Angel Studios is seeking a Mobile Engineer Tech Lead to own and elevate the Angel mobile app end-to-end. You will drive iOS/Android experiences with React Native and TypeScript, spending most of your time shipping features while guiding the team to maintain high standards.

You will lead architectural direction, implement scalable mobile systems, and own performance, reliability, and user engagement at scale. Remote-friendly, full-time role with onsite events.

Qualifications

• Strong React Native expertise with production mobile apps.
• Experience leading a mobile engineering team and owning features end-to-end.
• Familiarity with Expo, OTA updates, and mobile CI/CD practices.
• Proven ability to design scalable, high-performance mobile architectures.
• Experience with analytics, experimentation, and prioritizing user outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the mobile app end-to-end, guiding product and engineering decisions.
• Lead initiatives to deliver fast, reliable playback and great discovery features.
• Architect scalable React Native (Expo + TypeScript) systems across devices.
• Manage OTA updates, CI/CD pipelines, and release strategies for speed and safety.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and improve team effectiveness.
• Iterate rapidly on features like downloads, offline mode, and notifications.
