Betterment is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to own the critical first impressions of our mobile experience. You'll build and maintain high‑quality features in JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, and collaborate with iOS/Android teams to deliver delightful, scalable apps.

Based in NYC with a hybrid schedule, you’ll lead medium‑to‑large initiatives, mentor teammates, and help shape architecture while ensuring performance and security across our consumer app.

Qualifications

• Experience building mobile apps with JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native.
• Familiarity with iOS and Android platforms; Flutter is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Proven track record leading projects and mentoring teammates.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium‑to‑large scale initiatives and ship high‑quality software.
• Collaborate with Product & Design to craft delightful experiences.
• Work with Fullstack engineers to scale features securely and efficiently.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
• Maintain clean code, rigorous testing, and pragmatic solutions.
