Job summary

PrizePicks, a fast-growing North American sports-tech company, seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own critical features of our React Native mobile app. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with backend teams to align API design across Go and Rails.

You will craft scalable mobile experiences, refine tooling and CI/CD pipelines, and oversee deployments, testing, and performance. Remote candidates within the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of professional software engineering experience with production React Native apps
• Experience owning multiple complex technical initiatives and driving them to outcomes
• Experience with full mobile development lifecycle at scale: architecture, build systems, deployment pipelines
• Experience building mobile apps backed by large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users
• History of elevating engineering teams through mentorship and standards-setting

Responsibilities

• Set and evolve technical standards, architecture, and best practices for mobile features
• Lead the design and delivery of the team’s most complex projects
• Improve developer tooling, build pipelines, and workflows for faster iteration
• Define and enforce standards for architecture, testing, performance, and deployment
• Mentor engineers across the team and organization
• Collaborate with managers and leadership to align tech strategy with business goals
• Ensure mobile app integration with backend services (Go and Rails)
• Own on-call reliability improvements and incident response
