ByteDance is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for Relational Database Service (RDS) in Seattle. You will build and own database platforms across a global infrastructure, focusing on reliability, scaling, and advanced data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer-related fields.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Golang or Python with good coding practices and unit testing.
• Familiarity with web development frameworks and tools (Django, Flask, Gin, Kitex).
• Preferred: microservices architecture, service discovery, load balancing, RPC frameworks, and distributed config.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own database products for a global cloud platform.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and observability of database services.
• Collaborate with PMs to design RDS features and timelines.
• Design core components like instance management, monitoring, and backup/restore.
• Conduct performance tests and contribute to release/deployment.
