Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a senior PostgreSQL-focused engineer for its Relational Database Service (RDS) and Aurora PostgreSQL teams in California. You will collaborate with developers and product managers to design, implement, validate, and escalate customer issues across the full product cycle, driving improvements to our fully managed database service.

You will act as the subject matter expert for databases, working with customers and internal teams to optimize PostgreSQL usage,

Qualifications

At least 10 years of experience with PostgreSQL.
At least 5 years operating PostgreSQL systems.
Experience working with customers on how to best use PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

Work closely with customers to understand challenges and resolve escalations while teaching best practices.
Represent the voice of the customer to inform engineering on feature design and end-to-end test scenarios.
Drive feature enhancements and permanently resolve root causes to improve the managed database service.
Serve as a subject matter expert for databases and collaborate with developers, product managers, and account teams.
Engage with open-source communities via forums, conferences, and code submissions.
Extend knowledge to other database engines beyond PostgreSQL.
