Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Range Safety Manager to lead the TTD safety program for DoD-range testing and ARA facilities in NM. You will guide safety staff, develop comprehensive health and safety plans, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• 10+ years of supervisory experience in safety.
• Experience acting as primary safety representative with client coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication under tight schedules.
• OSHA, NFPA, NEC, MSHA, DOT, and ANSI regulations knowledge.
• Environmental compliance and industrial hygiene monitoring experience.
• Ability to work in field environments including active construction and test ranges.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs aligned with OSHA and national standards.
• Monitor regulatory updates and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Lead Job Hazard Analyses and translate technical data into safety briefs and analyses.
• Author and maintain Health and Safety Plan for test operations and environmental concerns.
• Review and update SOPs to ensure strict safety plan adherence.
• Lead safety readiness reviews before testing and pause unsafe operations.
• Draft safety variance requests and incident investigations for diverse audiences.
• Coordinate with clients and test teams to adjust procedures while preserving safety needs.
• Mentor Safety Officers and manage EHS budget and resources.
