Job summary

Mon Ami is hiring a Senior Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain core software for public-agency customers. You will lead a defined area of the codebase and collaborate with product managers and 1–3 junior engineers.

Our stack includes Ruby on Rails, Bootstrap, Stimulus, and Postgres. You will write code, review code, design data models, and mentor teammates, in a fast-moving startup environment that values agility and initiative.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience as a mid-level engineer at a fast-growing tech company.
• Strong refactoring, data design, and disciplined testing track record.
• Creative problem-solver with experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Hands-on AI dev tool fluency with Claude Code or Codex.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Take high command of a defined area of the codebase and ship Rails features end to end.
• Develop and mentor 1–3 junior engineers, coordinating with product managers.
• Operate in a small, scrappy team to deliver impact and hit goals.
• Apply refactoring and careful data design to keep the codebase healthy.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity.
