Markel is seeking an Underwriter/Sr. Underwriter to join its Inland Marine/Railroad underwriting team in the United States. The role focuses on profitable underwriting, renewal management, and collaborating with regional managers to drive favorable outcomes.

You will review and select new business, participate in audits, and coach others while traveling up to 25% as required. The position offers growth within a Fortune 500 environment and a broad benefits package.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of Inland Marine/Railroad underwriting experience.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and analytical thinking.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Review, analyze, accept, and decline Railroad risks to ensure profitability.
• Underwrite and select new business that yields underwriting profit.
• Manage renewals and implement corrective measures for profitability.
• Collaborate with regional managers and product lines on accounts.
• Participate in audits/meetings and maintain producer relationships.
• Cross-sell Markel products through internal collaboration.
