Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Senior Field Inspector for Railroad Construction Engineering. This field-based role requires traveling to multiple project sites across the US to supervise inspections and ensure contract compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 16 years of practical field inspection experience on infrastructure projects, with concrete structure or bridge inspection as a strong plus, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of practical experience as a field inspector on infrastructure projects.
• Concrete Structure/Bridge inspection experience is a strong plus.
• Must be willing to travel to various project site locations across the US region.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be capable of collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight of contractors’ day-to-day work.
• Enforce contractor responsibilities and ensure contract compliance.
• Accurately measure and validate contractor quantities per contract terms.
• Generate daily construction reports to monitor progress.
• Monitor QA documentation for standards compliance.
• Maintain daily Field Book entries recording tasks, workforce, equipment, and progress.
• Track progress of construction activities to produce detailed field reports.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide updates.
• Collaborate with Resident Project managers to resolve technical challenges.
