Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Senior Field Inspector for Railroad Construction Engineering. The role is field-based with travel to project sites across the US; ideal candidates bring extensive field inspection experience on railroad infrastructure and a valid driver's license.

The position emphasizes daily contractor oversight, QA documentation, and collaboration with project managers to ensure contract compliance and quality across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of practical field inspections experience on infrastructure projects.
• Concrete structure/bridge inspection experience is a strong plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites across the US.

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight of contractors' day‑to‑day work.
• Measure and validate contractor quantities per contract terms.
• Generate daily construction reports and monitor progress.
• Review quality assurance documentation for standards compliance.
• Maintain Field Book entries and document progress and issues.
• Support progress meetings and provide field updates as needed.
• Collaborate with Resident Project managers to resolve technical challenges.
