Job summary

Benesch seeks a Senior Field Inspector- Railroad Construction Engineering to supervise field inspections across the US region. The role requires a minimum of 16 years of practical field inspection experience on railroad infrastructure projects, with a focus on concrete structures and bridges where applicable.

The position is field-based with travel to project sites, and you will work closely with Resident Project Managers to oversee contractors, document daily activities, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of practical experience working as a field inspector on infrastructure projects.
• Concrete Structure/Bridge Inspection Experience is a strong plus.
• Eager to learn and proactively acquire new skills.
• Capable of collaborating effectively within a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing and able to travel to project sites across the US region.

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight of contractors' day-to-day work.
• Enforce contractor responsibilities and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Accurately measure and validate contractor quantities per contract terms.
• Generate comprehensive daily construction reports to monitor progress and document undertakings.
• Monitor QA documentation to verify conformity with standards.
• Maintain daily Field Book entries including tasks, workforce, equipment, and progress updates.
• Track progression of construction activities to produce detailed work reports for field orders.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide updates as needed.
• Collaborate with Resident Project Managers to resolve technical challenges.
