Urban-Engineers is seeking a Chief Construction Inspector for major rail/transit projects in NJ/PA. You will lead a multi-disciplinary inspection team across rail, signals, traction power, and structural disciplines, ensuring conformance with contract documents and safety standards.

The role requires high-level leadership, 20+ years in rail/transit construction, and active management of field operations, quality control, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 20 years rail/transit construction experience or equivalent
• OSHA 10 hr. Training completed
• OSHA 30 hr. Training preferred
• NICET certification or equivalent
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or PE license preferred
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to the Construction Inspection staff.
• Prepare daily work assignments and multi-shift inspection schedules.
• Review Daily Inspection Reports and monitor contract documents for conformance.
• Ensure safety compliance and enforce Safe Work Plans on site.
• Maintain and update record drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate with contractor and Resident Engineers to keep project on schedule.
• Draft quality control reports and procedures; track material deliveries and pay reports.
• Observe site operations for compliance with codes and regulations and resolve nonconformances.
