Job summary

RailWorks Corporation is seeking a Superintendent to oversee railway track construction and maintenance. You will coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and project alignment with design and budget.

The role requires 7+ years of construction experience (railway preferred), strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Travel to job sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduation plus post-secondary training in a related field or equivalent education.
• A minimum of 7 years recent construction experience including railway knowledge preferred.
• Experience applying basic project controls, material management, contract management, subcontract management.
• Track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
• Current First Aid, WHMIS.
• Valid and clean Driver’s License.
• Willing to work nights/weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all phases of railway track construction and maintenance projects.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and contract documents to understand requirements.
• Supervise field construction ensuring work aligns with design, budget and schedule.
• Monitor quality and sub-contractor performance.
• Assign work to crews and manage productivity and resources.
• Review timesheets, job coding, and invoicing; assist with invoicing.
• Liaise with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders; manage project communications.
