Job summary

North American Rail Solutions is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead a dynamic team in a fast-growing environment, delivering projects on time and coordinating with engineers and subcontractors.

The role requires 40 hours/week with overtime, on-call, alternating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires 3+ years supervisory construction and 5+ years railroad/heavy civil experience, with knowledge of FMCSA/DOT/FRA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in construction/business management, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors to ensure the project runs smoothly and on schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, supervisors and others to determine project needs.
• Plans construction processes.
• ,
• Maintain a daily diary of all activities and site conditions and manage the punch list and closeout process for the job.
• Provides front-line supervision of crew members and provides onsite feedback on their performance.
• Trains other crew members upon hire and welcomes the team.
• Monitor and report on project progress.
• Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
• Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities.
• Keep track of material stock and orders.
• Ensure the job site is safe, clean, and orderly.
• Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
• Comply with company and federal rules, policies, and procedures – wear required safety equipment, respond to and act on safety concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
