Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Rail Site Development Engineer to join our Rail Team. You will contribute to rail site design across diverse projects, collaborating with multiple disciplines and stakeholders nationwide.

The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to manage tasks and teams effectively. You will apply standard civil engineering techniques, work with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and BIM tools, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree with extensive civil site design and EPC project experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead large discipline design teams.
• Ability to travel and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate civil site development design for rail and stormwater projects.
• Lead multi-discipline coordination, client liaising, and task management on major projects.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and support project managers with technical oversight.
• Coordinate with design team members, sub-consultants, and utility companies.
• Perform quality reviews of engineering documents and specifications.
