Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Senior Project Management Specialist (Rail Facilities) in Philadelphia to lead the engineering and construction scope, develop schedules and estimates for capital projects, and coordinate with the design teams and consultants to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of relevant experience, plus strong written and verbal communication and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline with at least five years of related experience.
• Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
• Familiarity with working in a unionized environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights and weekends.
• EIT or PE/RA registration preferred.
• Familiarity with Transit/Rail Operations, project/contract management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage review and evaluation of engineering and construction documents.
• Develop priorities and schedules for capital projects.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare reports.
• Coordinate engineering documents with FTA for approval and meet with agency representatives.
• Develop scope, schedule and estimate for third party documents and contracts.
• Oversee development and implementation of engineering projects and maintain files.
• Assist with permits from DEP, ACOE, CCD or FEMA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
