Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Project Engineer (Rail Facilities) to support capital programs and the design and construction of railroad facilities in the Philadelphia region. The role requires an extensive background in engineering and construction principles and the ability to communicate effectively with executives and external partners.

Starting salary is up to $105,378, with an additional $5,000 for those with a Pennsylvania PE license; SEPTA offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Architecture with 5 years in rail facilities or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction project management techniques.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of budgets and schedules for proposed projects.
• Prepare written memoranda, reports, specifications, audits, presentations.
• Coordinate with governmental agencies and other transit authorities.
• Monitor contractor progress and participate in design review process.
• Conduct job progress meetings and coordinate project support functions.
