Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a Rail Maintenance Associate III in Houston, TX. The role focuses on managing rail car shop trips, tracking repair estimates, and ensuring data integrity in the Rail TMS.

You will coordinate with rail shops, lessors, and internal teams to keep records current and compliant. Responsibilities include submitting shop requests, loading estimate data, processing invoices, and generating regular reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in rail logistics, fleet management, or transportation operations.
• Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interact with stakeholders across multiple functions (shops, lessors, internal teams).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proactive and initiative-driven.

Responsibilities

• Serve as data steward for repair estimates and prevent duplicates in the TMS.
• Load estimate files (.Txt or .Dat) into the system when needed.
• Keep shop info accurate to support BRC approvals and rejections.
• Act as liaison between rail shops and internal Rail Maintenance team.
• Submit daily shop requests through platforms (MyGatx, LinkNet).
• Notify when P66 bills cars to shop and manage outbound disposition with shops and lessors.
• Process shop diversions and coordinate to obtain Bills of Lading and documents.
• Support Annual Compliance Shop Program and update system for testing dates.
• Ensure test dates are updated when shops request outbound disposition in system.
• Identify OTMA cars and submit info to leasing company during shop entry.
• Communicate invoices to appropriate parties and file accordingly.
• Manage trip diversion data and origin changes with Rail Coordinator.
• Communicate new route codes to stakeholders for diversions and shop trips.
• Run daily reports on off-lease car departures and update car status.
