Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an Assistant Operator for the Rail Flaw Detection Team to inspect rail infrastructure across the United States. You will operate Rail Inspection vehicles, assist the Chief Operator, and ensure test carriages are ready for daily testing.

This role requires extensive travel and the ability to work safely in a team environment. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, driving experience with large trucks, basic mechanical skills, and proficiency with Office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of professional driver experience preferred.
• Good driving habits with experience in larger trucks.
• Some mechanical ability and knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Proficiency with Office 365 and Microsoft Windows.
• Willing to be away from home for extended periods with up to ~60% travel.
• Railroad experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Extensive travel within the continental United States.
• Conduct DOT Vehicle Inspection Checks before and after each trip.
• Drive Rail Inspection Vehicles on road and rail.
• Maintain electronic driver logs and fuel reports.
• Assist the Chief Operator during testing activities.
• Maintain the Rail Inspection Vehicle's test carriage and inventory.
