Zusammenfassung

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Estimator (Rail) for remote work with travel to the office as needed. You will lead the estimating process for tenders, maximise commercial position and collaborate with preconstruction teams to price opportunities.

The role requires a degree/HNC in construction or civil engineering, significant tendering experience and strong Excel skills. You will supervise juniors and help develop supply chain strategies while managing risks.

Qualifikationen

• Degree/HNC in construction or civil engineering with a professional qualification.
• Experience as an Estimator with a major civil engineering contractor or as a Senior Estimator with Tier 2 contractors.
• Knowledge of railway sector work types, possession working and site constraints.
• Strong commercial awareness with knowledge of main forms of contract and excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; willingness to learn RIB Candy estimating system.

Aufgaben

• Lead the estimating process from client documents through to handover to delivery teams.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates; present findings at bid team meetings and final reviews.
• Prepare structured items and quantities using measurement methods and pricing under various contract forms.
• Collaborate with procurement to develop supply chain strategies and appraise quotations.
• Identify key risks, supervise junior team members and support their professional development.
