Job summary

Bechtel seeks a seasoned Construction Manager to lead a major rail project in San Jose, CA. You will supervise Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, inspectors, and administrative staff to ensure safe, timely, and within-budget execution.

The role requires extensive rail construction experience, strong leadership, and a deep knowledge of safety regulations and field practices. Bechtel offers a comprehensive rewards package and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CM, geology, engineering, or related field.
• 20 years in heavy civil construction with 10+ years on rail transit projects.
• Two or more tunnel projects using TBMs >18 ft diameter.
• Experience with SEM method excavations.
• Resident Engineer or Construction Manager on a rail project of at least $500M.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction activities for a single contract, coordinating Bechtel, subs, and client teams.
• Oversee schedule, budget, and technical compliance; resolve field issues.
• Prepare status reports and manage contract changes with client direction.
• Ensure safety, quality, and adherence to design and specifications.
