Job summary

Bechtel has appointed Bechtel to provide Construction Management for Phase II of the BART Silicon Valley Program in the San Jose area. The Construction Manager will oversee Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and project personnel to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget execution.

The role requires extensive rail transit project experience, leadership, and a strong grasp of contract management, safety standards, and coordination with the Program Manager and client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in construction management, geology, engineering, or related field; 20+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Ten years in rail transit projects with tunnels, trackwork, underground stations.
• Experience with SEM method excavations, ground freezing/improvement, and tunnels >18 ft diameter.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities for a single contract, including Bechtel, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Ensure schedule, budget, technical specs, drawings, and contract requirements are met.
• Resolve design and field construction problems and report progress to stakeholders.
• Lead change negotiations and assist in contract modification processes.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure safe, compliant site operations.
