Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking a driven Senior Construction Inspector for immediate employment near Piscataway, NJ to join our Class I Railroad Team. This is a part time field position.

The role involves on-site monitoring of public projects, coordinating preconstruction meetings, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with railroad standards. Travel within New Jersey 2-3 days a week is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus 8 years of related experience.
• AS Degree plus 10 years of related experience.
• HS/GED plus 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education
• US Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• On-site monitoring of railroad projects for conformance with safety standards.
• Leading preconstruction meetings with client, contractor, and outside parties.
• Communicating field changes and resolving construction-related issues promptly.
• Maintaining project records and delivering field reports and meeting minutes.
• Interacting with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure project alignment.
• Performing quality assurance inspections and verifying contractor compliance.
• Documenting project progress with photos, videos, and inspection notes.
• Monitoring project schedules and communicating status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and Class I Railroad safety requirements.
• Tracking and documenting field issues and corrective actions
