Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead daily observation of contractor activities on rail and transit projects in the Northeast. The role focuses on construction management, inspection, and ensuring conformance with contract requirements.

Qualifications include a BS in engineering, 10+ years in residency, OSHA 30, and a PE is preferred. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work on-site in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer and managing construction field teams.
• Experience with Amtrak, MTA, Metro-North Railroad, NJ Transit, or Long Island Railroad construction projects is a plus.
• OSHA 30-hour safety certification.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation.
• A Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the construction management and inspection of rail projects.
• Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation of contract items.
• Prepare inspection reports and oversee field testing and commissioning.
• Review change orders and respond to RFIs.
