Job summary

Constellation is seeking a qualified professional to administer the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company regulations at the station. The role involves calculating Curie content, classifying radwaste shipments, and maintaining shipment records.

The position requires a health physics background with related degrees and several years of experience in Radiation Protection, including familiarity with NRC/10 CFR rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science with 3 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
• Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience OR
• Associate's degree in health physics or related science with 5 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
• High school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection

Responsibilities

• Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including inspections and authorizations for shipment; maintain records.
• Perform Curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis; ensure computer programs used for shipments are maintained.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes for radioactive shipping and update procedures accordingly.
• Develop and deliver effective oral and written communications for diverse audiences.
• Additional duties as needed per policy or management direction, including emergency response and outage support.
