Job summary

Constellation Energy Corp. seeks a qualified professional to administer the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program at our facility, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.

You will perform Curie content calculations, classify radwaste shipments, and maintain records, while keeping up with regulatory changes and communicating effectively with all audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health physics or related sciences with 3 years of Radiation Protection experience.
  • Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of Radiation Protection experience.
  • Associate's degree in health physics or related sciences with 5 years of Radiation Protection experience.
  • High school diploma/GED with 7 years of Radiation Protection experience.
  • Maintain access requirements or unescorted access and pass medical examination per duties.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials, including inspections and shipment authorizations.
  • Ensure completion of all required paperwork for receipt/shipment of radioactive materials and maintain records.
  • Perform Curie content calculations, classify radwaste shipments, and maintain relevant computer programs.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and incorporate them into station procedures.
  • Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences; support outage activities as needed.

Expected salary range of $117,900 to $131,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

Responsible for the administration of the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program to ensure the station is meeting all state, federal, and company regulations.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including associated inspections and authorizations for shipment. Ensure completion of all required paperwork associated with the receipt/shipment of radioactive materials including proper maintenance and retention of records.
  • Perform Curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis. Ensures that the appropriate computer programs for radioactive material shipments are maintained.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes regarding radioactive shipping regulations and guidelines and incorporate changes into existing station procedures.
  • Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 3 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
  • Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience OR
  • Associate's degree in health physics or related science degrees (e.g. chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.) with 5 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection OR
  • High school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification
  • Previously qualified as a Radwaste shipper
