Job summary

Constellation is the largest private-sector power producer in the United States and, after integration with Calpine, operates a diverse portfolio of energy facilities. We seek a Radiation Protection specialist to administer the radioactive materials shipping/receiving program, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and company regulations across the station.

The role requires a health physics or related science background with relevant licenses and experience in radiation protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health physics or related science with 3 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection.
• Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience.
• Associate's degree in health physics or related science with 5 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection.
• High school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in applied Radiation Protection.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including inspections and authorizations for shipment; ensure completion of required paperwork and records.
• Perform Curie content calculations, classify radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis; maintain computer programs for shipments.
• Keep abreast of industry changes regarding radioactive shipping regulations and incorporate into procedures.
• Develop and deliver oral and written communications effective for all audiences.
• All other duties per company policy or director guidance, including emergency response duties and outage support.
