Job summary

Providence Imaging Services is seeking an Imaging Services Support role to assist with patient care activities in radiology settings. The role includes transporting patients, helping technologists and nurses prepare for exams, and observing patients while they wait for procedures.

Enrollment or graduation from an accredited radiology, sonography, or nuclear medicine program is expected, with licensure or boards pursued within six months; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment or graduation from an accredited radiology/sonography/nuclear medicine program.
• Will obtain state licensure within six months of graduation or be demoted.
• Demonstrated competency in Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation.
• Completion of internal orientation and ongoing competency assessments.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Under the direction and supervision of the Imaging Services Supervisor or Manager, provides medical imaging assistance with patient care activities including but not limited to: transporting patients, assisting Technologists/Nurse in preparing for exams and procedures, lifting/positioning patients, and observing patients while they wait. This person may transport charts, records, laboratory specimens, and other pertinent information as requested.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited School of Radiology, or
• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited School of Sonography, or
• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine, or
• Coursework/Training: A graduate of an accredited school of Radiology, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine who is pending state licensure and/or applicable boards within the first six months following graduation. After six months, you will be demoted to a non-licensed position.
• Coursework/Training: Demonstrated initial and ongoing competency in Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation. Will be enrolled in an internally developed online course as part of orientation. Will have periodic competency assessment.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years Experience in a hospital setting.
