Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group in Texas seeks an Imaging Services Assistant to support patient care in radiology, sonography, and nuclear medicine. Under supervision, you will transport patients, help technologists prepare for exams, assist with positioning, and observe patients during waits.

You will work toward licensure within six months, complete BLS, and may handle charts and specimens as requested in a large health system that values compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Enrollment or graduation in radiology/sonography/nuclear medicine programs
• State licensure within six months of graduation
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation competency being developed during orientation
• BLS certification upon hire (American Heart Association)

Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Imaging Services Supervisor or Manager, provides medical imaging assistance with patient care activities including but not limited to: transporting patients, assisting Technologists/Nurse in preparing for exams and procedures, lifting/positioning patients, and observing patients while they wait. This person may transport charts, records, laboratory specimens, and other pertinent information as requested.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited School of Radiology, or
• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited School of Sonography, or
• Coursework/Training: Enrollment in an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine, or
• Coursework/Training: A graduate of an accredited school of Radiology, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine who is pending state licensure and/or applicable boards within the first six months following graduation. After six months, you will be demoted to a non-licensed position.
• Coursework/Training: Demonstrated initial and ongoing competency in Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation. Will be enrolled in an internally developed online course as part of orientation. Will have periodic competency assessment.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years Experience in a hospital setting.
