Qualifications

• State licensure in radiation therapy technology as required by the IEMA.
• ARRT Board certification is required.
• One year of full-time radiation therapy experience.
• Current AHA CPR Certification.

Responsabilités

• Assist Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, and Chief Technologist in the simulation of treatment.
• Transmit simulation procedures to the treatment machines to assure accurate reproduction of the treatment area.
• Position patients in proper orientation to the simulator using immobilization devices and treatment aids.
• Assist the treatment planning team in basic calculations of radiation dosage by gathering information and measurements; interpret formulas and tables for dosimetry calculations.
• Explain the treatment procedures to the patient and answer questions.
• Maintain daily records and documents of each patient's treatment; ensure charts are complete and include photos and test results.
• Perform weekly verification of patient treatment site to ensure ongoing accuracy.
• Maintain treatment rooms through daily machine warm-up and documentation procedures; restock supplies.
• Assist in orientation and training of Radiation Therapist I and II; may perform initial setup checks on complex patients.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
