Job summary

UChicago Medicine’s Radiation Oncology department in Hyde Park seeks a Registry Radiation Therapist for a PRN, 0.1 FTE position. Under general supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, you will administer ionizing radiation and assist in treatment planning for patients receiving radiation therapy.

The role requires a formal radiation therapy program, ARRT eligibility or certification, and an IEMA license, along with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited educational body.
• Completion of an AMA-approved radiation therapy program.
• ARRT certification or eligibility to sit for the board exam.
• Illinois Emergency Medical Agency (IEMA) license.

Responsibilities

• Support medical center and department policies.
• Perform initial set-up checks, chart QA for new set-ups, & maintain consistency in daily setups.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform simulation and treatment procedures.
• Assist with training and evaluation of radiation therapy students.
• Ensure adherence to patient safety standards.
• Participate in evaluation of treatment devices.
• Participate and support department QA and QI initiatives.
• Adhere to Radiation Protection guidelines at all times.
• Attend staff meetings and department in-services.
• Maintain compliance with training, infection control, and credentialing requirements.
