Job summary
UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Physics expert to lead daily clinical physics operations in Radiation Oncology. The role covers treatment planning, chart checks, QA of therapy equipment, and support across modalities.
The ideal candidate holds an MS in physics or related field, ABR board certification, and a minimum of four years in clinical radiation oncology. A PhD is preferred. A signing bonus may be available, with full-time day shift in Harrington.
Qualifications
- MS in physics, engineering or related field.
- Board certification in therapeutic radiological physics by ABR (or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years of direct clinical experience in radiation oncology.
Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day clinical work of physics staff, including treatment planning, patient chart check/review, physics support to all treatment modalities, QA of therapy equipment and planning systems.
- Implements acceptance testing and commissioning of treatment machines; carries out beam data measurement and analysis; establishes procedures for dose calculation.
- Participates in research and development programs and development of new treatment modalities.
- Assists in developing and maintaining budgets and in human resource decisions for the physics division.
