Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis seeks a Senior Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to lead advanced physics services across the metro area, collaborating with the Chief Physicist and clinical teams to standardize imaging and therapy workflows.

Responsibilities include treatment planning for complex cases, QA, physics equipment testing, and participation in GME and clinical trials. Requires ABR board certification and a Master’s in Medical Physics with 10+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum required: 10 years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department.
• Preferred: HDR, advanced IMRT applications, and stereotactic treatment delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assists with coordination of Physics and Dosimetry staffing for the Baptist Cancer Centers across the Metro market.
• Assists to assure cross training of physics/dosimetry staff for complex services (IORT, TBI, CyberKnife).
• Assists in development of patient care protocols to ensure evidence-based planning and optimized outcomes.
• Supports Baptist GME program in clinical education of Radiology residents related to Radiation Oncology.
• Coordinates treatment planning processes and procedures as indicated.
• Oversees quality controls measures.
• Documents all aspects of physics services.
• Participates in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
• Contributes to a positive work environment and team effort.
• Completes assigned goals and other duties as directed.
