Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking a Radiation Engineer to advance radiation effects testing across avionics platforms within the ACE organization. The role focuses on planning, executing, and documenting tests that assess TID, DDD, and SEE impacts on spaceflight hardware.

You will develop custom test setups and software, interface with test facilities, and maintain the radiation test database while guiding parts selection and test procedures for mission success.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Nuclear Science, or related field with 2+ years of proven direct radiation experience in design, analysis, and/or testing.
• Direct hands-on experience performing component/system radiation effects test and employing measurement hardware.
• Basic understanding of the effects of radiation on electronics.
• Electrical engineering fundamentals, basic digital and analog circuit fundamentals, and familiarity with associated laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom radiation test setups.
• Develop custom software for test data collection and processing.
• Document radiation test plans and results.
• Interface with radiation test facilities to schedule and perform tests.
• Maintain Blue’s radiation test database.
• Contribute to improvements in Blue’s in‑house radiation test capabilities and laboratory.
• Advise program personnel on parts selection and test procedures.
