Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team at the East Syracuse, NY office to develop complex electronic surveillance systems for commercial and government customers.

You will lead top-level design, specify documentation, and coordinate with stakeholders to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives while managing risk. This role requires travel, strong collaboration, and expertise in electromechanical/embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systems
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and system integration
• Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
• Domestic and international travel may be required, typically less than 2 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature development and change requests from internal and external stakeholders
• Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which provide safety-critical surveillance worldwide
• Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal SE processes
• Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groups
• Coordinate with product development management to ensure objectives are achieved while managing risk
• Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performance
• Support technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs
