Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our East Syracuse office and lead development of complex electronic surveillance systems for government and commercial customers.

You will shape feature design, specifications, and documentation while coordinating with multiple stakeholders across projects. The role requires 7+ years in safety-critical industries, strong electromechanical and embedded software expertise, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
• Proficiency with electromechanical and embedded software systems.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and integration.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<2 weeks/year).

Responsibilities

• Lead design for new feature development and change requests.
• Lead development of radar products for safety-critical surveillance.
• Develop and maintain specifications and documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to balance objectives.
• Support proposal preparation for future programs.
