$79,519.00/yr - $83,382.00/yr

Job Overview

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) is seeking a Senior Rackets Investigator for its Investigation Bureau. The role involves conducting a variety of investigations, requiring certification as a police officer on the NYS DCJS Police registry, completion of police academy training in New York State, and passing a background check to carry a firearm. Candidates should have experience in investigating white collar crimes, financial fraud, racketeering, mortgage frauds, and all aspects of organized crime-related index crimes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Managing criminal investigative caseloads, including counterterrorism and terrorism-related investigations.
  2. Conducting cyber-crime investigations and undercover operations.
  3. Reviewing complex facts and preparing detailed reports.
  4. Executing search warrants leading to arrests.
  5. Working undercover and collaborating with law enforcement agencies.
  6. Conducting surveillance and interviews, and testifying in court.
  7. Utilizing various databases for background checks and information gathering.
  8. Working on special projects as assigned.
  9. Willingness to work flexible hours.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Firearms qualification.
  • At least 15 years’ experience in relevant investigative work.
  • Certification from NYS Basic Course for Police Officers or eligibility for refresher course.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of medical, drug, psychological tests, and background check.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior law enforcement experience, especially in terrorism investigations.
  • Experience working with victims of crimes and using investigative technology.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently.
  • Experience as a detective or special investigator.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and overseas.
  • U.S. Passport.
