Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, as cases often require odd hours, including early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU / Claims) Field Investigator conducts recorded statements/interviews, accident scene investigations, online research, and witness canvassing. They recognize issues of compensability, misrepresentation, and understand insurance coverage as it pertains to claims decisions. They identify red flags and follow investigation leads diligently to conduct thorough investigations.
A SIU / Claims investigator should have strong computer and internet skills, excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, good listening skills, and high attention to detail. Persistence and organization are also essential.
The ideal candidate must own a well-maintained vehicle, a Windows-based laptop, a cell phone with a good internet connection, a camera or similar device for photographs, and a recording device for statements.
