Job summary

AMD is seeking a Principal Member of Technical Staff to own system design support, rack-level bring-up, and critical customer engagement for AMD Instinct products. You will bridge internal architects, platform teams, and OEM partners, guiding design choices and hands-on debug at customer sites.

You will lead fault analysis, drive roadmap influence, and mentor engineers across multi-disciplinary teams, traveling to customer and factory locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science.
• Extensive experience in system architecture and customer-facing engineering.
• Strong background in hardware/firmware debugging and datacenter environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide system architecture and design support for rack-scale AI deployments.
• Lead bring-up, debug and validation across platforms and customer sites.
• Create documentation and best practices for AMD AI platforms.
• Drive hands-on engineering for rack, platform, and component-level validation.
• Lead customer issue resolution and drive long-term process improvements.
• Lead firmware debug during initial bring-up and large-scale deployments (BIOS/BMC).
• Own end-customer debugging interface and sustainment for deployed fleets.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional roadmaps.
