Job summary

AMD is seeking a Lead Systems Management Architect in Austin, TX to drive the OOB management stack for Instinct GPUs and server platforms. You will define standards-based interfaces, collaborate across BMC/firmware teams, and ensure the architecture meets datacenter and AI/HPC needs.

You will work with customers and ODMs to translate requirements into concrete features, guide partners through implementations, and influence future AMD Instinct platform roadmaps in a highly visible leadership role.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience in platform management architecture and server manageability.
• Proven ability to translate requirements into architecture and implementation in datacenter/AI/HPC contexts.
• Knowledge of DCIM, BMC firmware, and device-level management protocols including Redfish/OpenBMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and feature definition for OOB management of AMD Instinct GPUs and server platforms.
• Define interface strategy for manageability using Redfish, PLDM, MCTP with AMD and OEM extensions.
• Collaborate with BMC/firmware teams on schemas, sensor/inventory representations, and update workflows.
• Contribute to firmware management architecture, including in-band and out-of-band updates and recovery mechanisms.
• Engage with customers/partners to capture requirements for datacenter integration and orchestration.
• Partner with architects and validation teams to translate architecture to production deliverables.
• Contribute to roadmap shaping and participate in standards/open-source communities like DMTF/OpenBMC.
