Job summary

Wordsmith is building a fast-growing in-house recruiting function for AI-driven product teams. You’ll own R&D hiring from intake to signed offer, partnering with engineering and product leaders to define what great looks like at each level.

You’ll run fair, fast processes that attract top software engineers, with strong emphasis on direct sourcing from GitHub and research communities. This is a hands-on, non-coordinating role that shapes our technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting for tech roles.
• Experience hiring software engineers at product-led tech companies.
• Ability to discuss stacks and system design with engineers.
• Proven track record with measurable hiring metrics.
• Most hires sourced directly by you.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bar-raising R&D hires each quarter.
• Own a fast, fair recruiting process optimized to hire best talent.
• Source engineers directly via GitHub, communities and networks.
• Run fast technical loops with tight take-homes and rapid debriefs.
• Manage candidate from first contact to day one and negotiate offers.
• Report on funnel weekly and act on data.
